Summary on back cover of book #1:
Harry Potter has never played a sport while flying on a broomstick. He's never worn a cloak of invisibility, befriended a giant, or helped hatch a dragon. All Harry knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley. Harry's room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn't had a birthday party in eleven years.
But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to a wonderful place he never dreamed existed. There he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic around every corner, but a great destiny that's been waiting for him... if Harry can survive the encounter.
I thought it would be a good idea to write about my favorite books as my first post. These books/series is everything to me. These are not the first books I read, I actually didn't read them in 4th grade like everyone else did, though i wish i had. I watched the movie and fell in love and then my best friend encouraged me to read them and so I did.
I have to say these books are life changing, they mention an extraordinary world that captures your mind. Rowling did an amazing job, she has a really great imagination. You find yourself falling in love with the characters and can't help but obsess. These books take you in an adventure that you won't forget.
Each book gets better and better. The way the story grows and develops throughout the 7 years at the wizarding school, Hogwarts, is unbelievable. I really think everyone should read them, it is perfect for all ages... well maybe at some point a little dark but hopefully all parents allow their children to read them because it is a great read. The only bad thing about this series is a really bad addiction to it.
Great review Stephanie! I totally agree that these books are life changing! I'm totally obsessed too! :)
